Community

I truly believe everything is connected in our world. These are a few organizations near and dear to my heart in our local and global community. If you have the means, please support them.

With gratitude, Anthea

MARY’S PLACE

Empowering homeless women, children, and families to reclaim their lives.

When I was in acupuncture school I was taught that when a child is born the focus should be on the mother: if you take care of the mother, the child will be fine. I feel this is the case throughout childhood. If we support the mother, and see that her needs are met, this is one of the best things we can do for the child, and for the community. This is why I am drawn to Mary’s Place, an organization in Seattle that provides shelter for homeless women, children and families.

Seattle Humane

Seattle Humane’s mission is to save and serve pets in need. They’re dedicated to saving animals’ lives and completing families.

My son chose this one :). It’s been his favorite organization for as long as he can remember. Everyone we’ve met here has been so caring and enthusiastic about their mission, they do such a wonderful job with education and events for all ages and they do so much for these beautiful pets in transition.

Malala fund

Malala Fund invests in education activists and advocates who are driving solutions to barriers to girls’ education in their communities.

It is an investment in economic growth, a healthier workforce, lasting peace and the future of our planet. That’s why Malala Fund advocates — at the local, national and international levels — for resources and policy changes that improve access to education for girls.

I believe it’s imperative to continue raising the feminine consciousness, our world is longing for it.
